The accommodationThe accommodation

Cortijo Cabriñana, our idyllic base for Joyriders holidays, is truly unique and unmistakeably Spanish. Put simply you won’t find better accommodation on a MTB holiday, guaranteed.

The building dates back three centuries but, aside from its ancient history, bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms are all brand new, each unique in their own way. Nothing here has been compromised – no waiting 2 hours for a shower after a ride with us.

Cortijo Cabriñana was once a prosperous vineyard estate, a fact brought home by the size of the property’s chapel. Old antique wooden doors, brandishing the Pope’s seal, lead the way into the heart of the property. A magnificent archway, decorated with typical Spanish flora open up into a games room. The central courtyard that follows is whitewashed and sun burned, boasting outdoor eating areas and a large BBQ.

The guest house, an old wine distillery (Bodega) where grapes were pressed is now the properties communal living area with whitewashed walls and terracotta tiles. In the spacious lounge a real wood fire awaits guests as they return on a chilly winters evening. This area also offers TV with British channels and DVD player with full surround sound. For your added enjoyment a fully stocked wine rack and library (complete with books, DVD’s, PS2 games and board games) adorn the dining room, a cosy space used only in the winter. Adjacent, the open plan kitchen, amply equipped with all modern appliances discreetly hidden away, is perfect for preparing an evening meal or your complimentary breakfast.

Guest rooms are typically Spanish with a modern edge. All rooms have twin beds, large en-suite bathrooms containing twin marble basins and powershowers, along with hot/cold air conditioning, TV/DVD, HiFi, Playstation 2, hairdryer (for the ladies) and 60GB iPods (perfect for relaxing by the pool with).

The main, completely private, gardens are an oasis offering plenty of shade from the heat of the sun. A private pool is set in the middle of grapevines, orange trees and lawn areas.

Private roof terraces hold a top of the range hydrotherapy massage spa, offering magnificent views of typical Spanish olive groves & vineyards with the Subbética Mountains dominating the horizon. Famed for exotic sunrises and sunsets these double up as the perfect setting for early breakfasts and evening meals.

Most importantly for the avid bike mechanic, there is a purpose built bike workshop and storage room, fully stocked with tools and a bike wash area.
