The regionThe region

Cabra lies within the province of Cordoba which in turn lies within the sun drenched region of Andalucia, enjoying over 320 days of sunshine each year. The region offers some of the most breath-taking scenery within Spain. The capital of the province, Cordoba City is a must see destination. A beautiful city, home to Museums, Cathedrals, Roman Ruins, and most spectacular of all "La Mezquita", said to be one of the most beautiful and original buildings in all of Spain. Granada is home to the most visited tourist attraction in Spain, the Alhambra Palace, truely amazing...

The immediate areas around Cabra forms two major landscapes - Subbetica National Park (used for plenty of the riding and walking) offering dramatic unspoilt scenery to rival anything anyhere in Southern Europe and the vineyards as far as the eye can see. The Montilla region is best known for its dry white wine which is made using the same solera method as sherry. The very sweet Pedro Ximenez grapes are used for the wine so, consequently, it does not need fortifying. This wine is known as Montilla in Spain and Amontillado elsewhere. Too much to say..... too little space..... See useful links below.

Andalucia

Andalucia is renowned for its climate and warm welcome - where else in the world will they give you free food when you order a drink (Tapas). The region of Andalucia enjoys over 320 days of sunshine each year and offers year round riding.

With so much to see and do in the area you may be tempted to swap some days in the saddle for trips to the many attractions on offer. Why compromise, take two weeks and do both, it still wont be enough time to see everything.
