The location chosen for your holiday took almost a whole year to find. The Cortijo (country house) where you will stay is a 300 year old converted bodega (wine distillery) with each twin room offering en-suite bathroom. The property provides many outside relaxation/recreation areas - pool with lawn sunbathing area, 2 roof terraces one providing a 6 person hydrotherapy spa, shaded gardens, central courtyard and many patio areas.
The area has riding to the North, South, East and West all offering very different challenges from hair-raising downhills and punishing climbs in the Subbetica National Park to leisurely trails around the lake and everything in between. See where we ride for more details.
For those interested in combining sightseeing with riding, the cortijo is within 45 minutes of the historic city of Cordoba, 60 minutes to Antequera, 90 minutes of Seville and Granada. Only 40 minutes away is the beautiful lake of Iznajar (the lake of Andalusia), a 32 km long turquoise lake with its own 400m beach.
Cerro Macho is a classic white washed, Spanish village, offering bar, restaurant and supermarket for those wishing to self cater in the fully equipped kitchen. For those wishing to eat out, the towns of Cabra, Montilla and Lucena offer restaurants for all tastes and budgets, only a 5 euro taxi ride away (taxi provided by Joyriders).
In surrounding areas, there are pursuits such as walking, horse riding, skiing, shooting, etc... For walkers with a little more adventure, the Subbetica mountains offer walks for all abilities.
