Riding
We aim to cater for every calibre of rider from those with little riding experience to those who feel uncomfortable off their bike.
Our fully qualified guides pride themselves in being holiday & trail guides first, mountain bikers second. We're here on the trail with you at all times, not just to show you the start and then disappear in a cloud of dust! Also the après biking entertainment is just as important as the riding!!
Using our air conditioned vehicles we'll take you to the start of a ride, even taking you as high as the van will allow on some rides, allowing more down than up. Of course for all you Cross Country whippets the full climbs can be included.
Ride duration and start time is variable and is totally up to the group. Most people prefer to set off at 10am and ride for 3-4 hours but we are regularly out for 6-8 hours. We have several ways of avoiding the midday heat - long lunches and early starts. We can even do night rides for the more adventurous (suitable lights are a must).
We are very fortunate to offer all grades of ride, over all types of terrain, within easy distance of the accommodation and we will adapt a week’s riding to best accommodate a group’s ability. Due to the nature of our trails, guests of all ability will be tested at some point during their stay with us, but this is done in a controlled and calculated way, no one is asked to ride beyond their own limits.
Tuition is also available on request. We pride ourselves in offering expert tuition and you will return home a more confident (and faster) rider. We also run skills weeks at certain times of the year, please contact us for more details.
A weeks stay with us includes 5 days guided riding with a rest day in the middle of the week. Guests who want to ride on their day off are welcome to set off from the door and we can provide maps and suggested routes.
