Your safety

Your safety is of the utmost importance to us, as such all our guides and instructors are qualified to lead or teach you in any given area. This means that if you are being guided at low altitude (under 600 metres) then your guide will hold a Trail Cycle Leader (TCL) certificate as a minimum. For high level riding/instruction (above 600 metres) our guides and instructors will hold either the MBLA or British Cycling Mountain Bike Leader award.

All our guides/instructors are qualified in Outdoor First Aid, which covers remote casualty management.

Our qualifications are available for inspection, on request.

For every trip or day course  we run, we carry out detailed risk assessments – which take into account the location, terrain, client experience and the weather. Key risk areas are raised and highlighted to the whole group before each day commences. Our risk assessments are available on request.

Insurance:

We are covered with public liability and professional indemnity insurance, specially selected for mountain bike holidays and guiding in the UK and abroad. This means that both you and Joyriders are protected should the worst happen.

It is also advisable to have your own travel/medical insurance when participating in a Joyriders trip – this essential when you are traveling abroad!
